BECKLEY, West Virginia — Four Golden Bears finished in double figures and WVU Tech women's basketball ended its four-game losing streak with a 93-63 win over Bluefield State University. The win boosts Tech's record to 3-4 while the Blue's record drops to 0-3.
Senior
Courtney Fisher had a double-double effort of 18 points and ten rebounds while freshman
Savannah Shamblin led on offense with 25 points including going 5-for-9 from the three-point line.
Senior
LaKisha Adkins posted 17 points while freshman
Alexandra Combs had ten points to round out Tech's top offensive contributors. Adkins marked a career-high 11 assists to go with three steals.
Sophomore
Julie Conway pulled down eight rebounds to go with eight points while Combs had seven rebounds and a game-high five steals.
As a team, the Gold and Blue enjoyed a 64.3 percent (9-for-14) shooting performance from the foul line while shooting 43.9 percent (36-for-82) from the field and 44.4 percent (12-for-27) from three-point range.
Defensively, Tech held the Blues to 28.6 percent (2-for-7) shooting from the three point line while forcing 27 turnovers and grabbing 17 steals.
Tech returns to action December 1 when they travel to Berea College for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
