MONTGOMERY, West Virginia — After a game featuring ten lead changes and four tied scores, No. 19 WVU Tech men's basketball team pulled away late, topping Bethel University 77-72 Saturday on day one of the Baisi Classic. The Golden Bears boost their record to 8-3 while the Wildcats are now 7-3 this season.
Tech had four scoring players in double figures including sophomore guard
Ryan Atkins who posted a game-high 23 points while pulling down a team-high eight rebounds. Junior guard
Paul Stone finished with 15 points and seven rebounds while blocking and stealing two balls each.

Eddie Gordon rounded out the top offensive contributors with 12 and ten points respectively. Wilson pulled down four boards and Gordon dished a game-high five assists.
The Golden Bears shot 42.2 percent (27-of-64) from the field and 56.5 percent (13-for-23) from the foul line. Tech held their opponent to 35.4 percent (23-of-65) shooting from the field and 12.5 percent (2-for-16) from three-point range. The team forced 19 Wildcat turnovers, scoring 22 points from Bethel's miscues.
WVU Tech will next face University of the Cumberlands tomorrow at 3 p.m. for the final day of the Baisi Classic.
Bethel University will face Washington Adventist University, who fell to the Cumberlands (76-55) Saturday, at 1 p.m. in the Baisi Athletic Center.
