LAURINGBURG, North Carolina - WVU Tech wrestling dropped a match to St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, North Carolina Thursday evening, 31-17. The Golden Bears are now 9-5 in duals this season.
The Gold and Blue had four wrestlers that were victorious Thursday, freshmen
TJ Bean (125) and
Curtis Cox (133), junior
Conrad Lacey (157) and sophomore
Terry Nance (197).
Bean defeated his opponent by fall, claiming six team points in the matter of 51 seconds for the first match-up of the night. Cox immediately followed, winning by decision (6-2) over his opponent, Tyran Taylor. Lacey and Nance won by major decision, 12-3 and 13-4 resepectively.
Tech will return to action Saturday, February 7 when they travel to Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, Georgia, set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
