BLUEFIELD, Virginia - Junior
LaKisha Adkins scored a game- and season-high 18 points, but it wasn't quite enough as the WVU Tech women's basketball team's five-game winning streak was snapped Sunday afternoon by Bluefield College (Virginia). The Golden Bears fall to 11-14 in the 76-62 loss at the Dome Gymnasium while the Rams improved to 11-15 this season.
Adkins standout day came off of a 7-for-12 shooting performance from the field that included four three-pointers. Senior
Nia Nolan posted 16 points for Tech while dishing a team-high two assists. Junior
Cheyanne Lusk also hit double-digits with 12 points while pulling down six boards and stealing a game-high three Rams' balls.
Senior
Roche Wimberly had six rebounds while blocking a game-high three balls and recording three points. Senior
Cierra Mobley pulled down five boards to go with one of each, a steal and an assist.
For the game, Tech went 24-for-58 (41.4 percent) from the field while holding advantage in points off turnovers (28-19), bench points (38-19) and fast break points (8-6).
The Gold and Blue will look to get back to their winning ways when they host Ohio Christian University Friday, February 13. Tip off at the Baisi Athletic Center is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
