MONTGOMERY, West Virginia - WVU Tech women's basketball celebrated seniors
Nia Nolan,
Cierra Mobley,
Roche Wimberly and
Noelani Woodson today at the Baisi Athletic Center for their final regular season game. Tech defeated Newport News Apprentice School, 94-64 Sunday afternoon.
The Golden Bears are now enjoying a five-game win streak and stand at 16-14 this season while the Builders fall to 14-10.
Tech was led by Nolan who scored 25 points on 9-for-18 shooting from the field. The Dayton, Ohio native also had a game-high eight assists with five rebounds and a steal.
Junior
Cheyanne Lusk finished with a double-double effort of 18 points and 11 boards to go with seven assists and two steals. Also in double figures, Woodson scored 11 points and Mobley had 10 points.
Freshman
Rocio Ruiz-Berdejo pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds to go with six points, two steals and blocks.
As a team, Tech shot 43.0 percent (40-for-93) from the field while holding their opponent to just a 26.3 percent (20-for-76) shooting performance.
Ylexzis Traeger paced the Builders with 16 points and seven rebounds.
