WVU Tech Baseball Scores Most Wins in School History

EAST BANK, West Virginia - WVU Tech baseball defeated Central Pennsylvania College in game one 8-1 before taking the doubleheader in the nightcap, 7-3. The Golden Bears improve to 26-20 with their 25th win marking the most in program history, surpassing the record set in 2013 when Tech finished 24-28.

As announced by the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.), Tech will be participating in the A.I.I. Conference Championships in the post season, hoping to earn an automatic berth to the NAIA National Championships Opening Round Tournament by winning the tournament.

Game One | WVU Tech 8, Central Penn 1 (Box Score)
Tech finished with nine hits for the win with junior Dylan Harvey and Carlos Diaz registering two hits a piece.

Diaz finished 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI, a stolen base and a sacrifice fly. Harvey marked a double, two stolen bases, two runs scored and an RBI.

Senior Josh Spears (1-0) pitched a complete game for his first win this season, scattering five hits while striking out three batters and giving up one earned run.

The Gold and Blue will travel to Point Park University for two games April 21, first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
