MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tennessee — WVU Tech women's soccer (1-0) went the distance in their first game of the 2015 season with a victory over Milligan College (0-2), 2-1 in double overtime. Freshman
Caitlin Foster scored her first collegiate goal just two minutes into the second half while sophomore
Ruby Bingham found the back of the net off a free kick in the 108
th minute of the game.
At 46:27 Foster received the perfect cross from junor
Alex Blumer for the first score of the game. Foster and Bingham ended the game with two shots on goal. Freshman
Jessica Guzman led the Gold and Blue with six shots, three on goal while junior
Alyssa Capon and freshmen
Alexandra Klein and
Brenda Rivera had two shots each.
In goal, sophomore
Martha Reyna (1-0) had eight saves with just the one goal allowed in 108 minutes of play.
As a team, Tech outshot their opponent 17-12 while also leading in corner kicks, 6-3.
The Golden Bears return to the field Monday to face the University of Rio Grande for their first KIAC match-up in Milligan College, Tennessee, action is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
