PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania — WVUTech men's soccer took a 2-0 win over Point Park University in their first KIAC match-up of the season off the goals of senior
Sam Laughton and sophomore
Jose Segarra Wednesday afternoon. The Golden Bears moved to 8-0, 1-0 (KIAC) with their third shutout victory in 2015 while the Pioneers fall to 4-5-1, 0-2 (KIAC).
Junior
Joaquin Rodriguez connected with Laughton notching an assist in the second half (51') for Tech's first goal of the contest. Laughton marked the second assist when he found Segarra in the 64
th minute who helped secure the 2-0 win for the Gold and Blue.
Junior goalkeeper
Hunter Moles (4-0) stopped six Pionner balls in 90 minutes of play for the win.
As a team, Tech outshot their opponent 17-11 including seven shots on goal compared to Point Park's six shots on goal.
The team will next travel to Ohio Christian University Saturday for another KIAC contest that is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
