PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — WVU Tech won their third Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) match-up this week after defeating Ohio Christian University 96-91 in a double overtime thriller Saturday afternoon. The Golden Bears move to 5-1 in the conference, 13-6 overall while the Trailblazers hold a record of 3-2 in conference play, 13-5 overall.
Tech took wins over Carlow University (January 13 | 76-73) and No. 20 University of Rio Grande (January 14 | 88-85) earlier this week.
The team had five Golden Bears who scored in double figures including a game-high effort from sophomore
Ryan Atkins who posted 31 points. Atkins, who also pulled down eight rebounds, is currently averaging 22.22 points per game, good enough for a No. 17 ranking in the Nation (NAIA DII).
Junior
Paul Stone also had a standout game, marking 25 points while grabbing a team-high nine boards. Stone was 8-for-12 from the field and 8-for-9 from the bonus line.

As a team, Tech shot 39.7 percent (31-for-78) from the field while committing 15 turnovers and forcing ten Ohio Christian giveaways.
Tech held a 30-21 lead through the first half before the Trailblazers outscored them in the second half 45-36. The teams came out even after the first overtime, 76-76. However, Tech was able to regroup in the final five minutes for the victory by posting 20 of their own points compared to OCU's 15.
Evin Bartlett led the Trailblazers with 25 points.
