MONTGOMERY, West Virginia — WVU Tech women's basketball saw a balanced attack from the team, ending the game with five Golden Bears in double figures and a KIAC victory over the University of Rio Grande, 92-82. The Golden Bears are enjoying a two-game winning streak and hold a record of 8-11, 3-5 (KIAC) while the RedStorm are now 13-6, 6-2 (KIAC) this season.

LaKisha Adkins led with a double-double effort of 18 points, enough for the game-high, and 11 assists while grabbing three steals Tuesday evening. Adkins was 8-for-13 from the field including sinking 2-of-6 from the arc. Freshman
Savannah Shamblin netted 17 points for Tech while dishing seven assists.

Courtney Fisher pulled down five rebounds each. Fisher finished 6-for-8 from the free throw line towards her 12 points.
Rounding out the top offensive contributors for the Gold and Blue includes freshman
Alexandra Combs with 13 points and sophomore
Julie Conway with ten. Combs was also good for seven of Tech's 40 boards.
Tech forced 26 opponent turnovers, grabbing 29 points from the RedStorm's miscues while committing just 15 themselves. From the field, the team shot 44.4 percent (32-for-72) from the field, 75.0 percent (21-for-28) from the foul line and 33.3 percent (7-for-21) from three-point range.
Rio was led by Jaida Carter who posted 17 points.
The Golden Bears will look to continue there winning ways in conference play when they host Ohio Christian University Saturday and Carlow University Sunday. Both KIAC contests have a 2 p.m. tipoff scheduled in the Baisi Athletic Center.
