MONTGOMERY, West Virginia — Sophomore
Ryan Atkins scored a game-high 30 points and WVU Tech men's basketball defeated Washington Adventist University Saturday evening. The Golden Bears move to 10-6 this season with the 81-76 victory over the Shock who are now 5-9.
Tech defeated Washington Adventist earlier this season, 76-70 (December 5) in Takoma Park, Maryland.
Atkins had an efficient shooting night from the foul line going 15-for-16. The Miami, Florida native also pulled down six rebounds to go with two assists.
Junior
Hunter Moles enjoyed two new career-highs with 14 points and seven rebounds while posting a block. Senior
Eddie Gordon and sophomore
Juwuan Wilson posted 12 and ten points respectively to round out Tech's top offensive contributors. Wilson had seven rebounds and dished a team-high five assists.
The Gold and Blue went 24-for-60 (40 percent) from the field. Tech won the rebounding battle (46-27) and also held advantage over the Shock in second chance points (26-19).
The team will next head to Carlow University for a KIAC contest Tuesday, January 12.
