Men's Soccer

BECKLEY, West Virginia -- In the River States Conference (RSC) Game of the Week, senior Daniel Ramirez earned a hat trick and WVU Tech men's soccer defeated Brescia University 7-0 in Beckley, West Virginia Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bears, who were ranked No. 17 in the nation (NAIA DI) this week, move to 9-1-1, 2-0 (RSC) in 2016 while the Bearcats fall to 6-3, 0-2 (RSC).

Ramirez posted two of his goals in the first half (20' and 28') off the assists of senior Matias Gandulfo and freshman Sergio Sanchez. His third and final goal of the game came in minute 76 when he received the perfect pass from freshman Alvaro Tina.

Junior Francisco Neto found the back of the net off a penalty kick (23') while senior Drew Lytton also scored unassisted (29'). Freshman Ignacio Tellechea posted his ninth and tenth goals of the year (29' and 73'), getting assistance from Neto on both.

Senior goalkeeper Hunter Moles (9-1-1) was awarded the win after 45 minutes of play and three saves. Freshman Jorge Martinez finished out the game, marking one save in 45 minutes.

The Gold and Blue look to add to their six-game winning streak when they travel to Salem International University for a non-conference match-up October 6.
