Men's Soccer Blanks Carlow for RSC Victory

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech men's soccer stayed undefeated in River States Conference (RSC) action after earning an 8-0 shutout at Carlow University Saturday evening. With a conference record of 5-0-1 (13-1-2 overall), the Golden Bears are now on top of the RSC standings, a half a game up over No. 3 University of Rio Grande.

The team saw goal contributions from freshman Ignacio Tellechea (22' and 32'), senior Prince Idornigie (35'), junior Francisco Neto (67' and 82'), senior Saul Montealegre (74') and freshman Steven McKinney (86').

Assists were credited to freshman Eduardo Gutierrez, sophomore Matias Pazos (2x), senior Daniel Ramirez, freshman Alvaro Tina (2x) and Montealegre.

In goal, senior Hunter Moles (13-1-2) was awarded the win after 45 minutes of play and one save while freshman Jorge Martinez finished out the game in the second half.

The team will return to action Thursday, October 27 when they travel to Asbury University for an 8 p.m. kickoff.
