LAST MATCH
  • Earned a 3-0 victory over Midway University and fell to Asbury University 3-0 Saturday in River States Conference (RSC) play.
  • In the win, sophomore Kayla Hill led the match with ten kills while junior Bailey Lotozo posted eight and freshman Emily Kidd finished with six.
  • Kidd also posted two block solos and a block assist to lead the team.
  • On defense, Lotozo had a match-high 19 digs while freshman Konstantina Pateli had 16.
  • Senior Michala Dean and sophomore Ana Monteiro also had solid back row showings with 14 and ten digs respectively.
  • Pateli led the match with 27 assists while Lotozo and Dean marked three each.

THIS SEASON
  • The Golden Bears' 2016-17 schedule with 14 promising dates including two home match-ups and several tournaments.
  • The home opener is scheduled for November 11, homecoming weekend, against Penn State Du Bois in the Baisi Athletic Center.
  • Tech's other home contest will take place January 28 when they face off against the Fighting Scots of Ohio Valley University.
  • WVU Tech will conclude their regular season with duals against Wilkes University, the Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Scranton on February 5 in Wilkes-Barre University.
  • The Gold and Blue finished the 2015-16 season on a two-dual winning streak, finishing 6-11 and was carried to a second place finish in the USCAA National Wrestling Invitational Championship with an individual champion in returner Terry Nance II (197 pounds) and nine other top-five finishes.

LAST GAME
  • Fell to Union College 75-65 Sunday afternoon in Barbourville, Kentucky.
  • The Golden Bears were led by freshman Carlie Biehl-Wilson who posted 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Biehl-Wilson finished 7-for-8 at the bonus line in the loss.
  • Sophomores Zjhane West and Savannah Shamblin scored ten points each while freshman Logan Dudley scored eight for Tech.
  • West also pulled down eight rebounds to go with two blocks and Dudley had seven boards.
  • The team shot 34.2 percent (25-for-73) from the field and 71.4 percent (15-for-21) from the free throw line.
  • Tech out rebounded their opponent, 48-44 and forced 17 Bulldog turnovers while committing 20 themselves.

LAST GAME
  • Competed against NCAA DI opponent West Virginia University in an exhibition game in Beckley, West Virginia Saturday evening in front of a sold out crowd at the King Coal Beckley AutoMall Arena.
  • Junior Ryan Atkins led the Golden Bears with 17 points as Tech fell to the Mountaineers 131-56.
  • Atkins finished 7-for-16 from the field while pulling down six rebounds.
  • Freshman Junior Arrey finished with 13 points for the Gold and Blue.
  • Junior Enson Garcia posted nine points and grabbed two boards while fellow classmate Kievonn Banks had six points and five rebounds.
  • The team finished 20-for-49 from the field and marked 26 rebounds while WVU finished with 49 boards.

LAST MEET
  • Competed at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge Saturday finishing 18th and 21st respectively.
  • Junior Nikki Aleshire led the women while fellow classmate Douglas Negrete led the men's squad.
  • Aleshire finished with a time of 20:17.40 in the 5k which gave her a 77th placement out of 273 runners.
  • Negrete ran the 8k in 26:43.12 for a 61st place finish out of 302 competitors.
  • For the women, the Golden Bears also saw action from junior Kylie Lang (111, 20:58.75), sophomore Katie Ervin (128, 21:48.73), senior Atiyyah Herron (146, 22:37.13), sophomore Seirra Seay (157, 24:23.74) and junior Cheyenne Davis (161, 25:52.89).
  • Ervin shaved four seconds from her personal record in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
  • The men also had finishes from sophomore Jesse Griesheimer (100, 27:36.34), freshmen Isaiah Maddix (103, 27:40.30), Nicolas Binfield (131, 28:51.38), Robert Jones (136, 29:06.48), Luke Jobson (142, 29:35.50) and CJ Persinger (147, 30:40.44).

LAST MEET
  • Women's swimming competed in their first dual of the 2016-17 season, falling to Lindsey Wilson College 110-79.
  • The first place finishes for the Golden Bears included:
    • First place finish by junior Kendra Monnin 1000 yard Freestyle with a time of 11:16.30. Monnin also earned first and an "A" standard in the 100 yard Breaststroke (1:09.87).
    • Senior Francine Meyer touched first in the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 25.51 which earned her an "A" standard. Meyer also earned an "A" standard in the 100 yard Butterfly with a first place finish and a time of 1:00.47.
    • Sophomore A'ishah Hironimus ended first in the 100 yard Freestyle with a time of 54.57, also earning an "A" standard.
    • Sophomore Isabela Kiesewetter Zandavalli posted a time of 1:04.07 in the 100 yard Backstroke, good for a "B" standard.
  • Men's swimming team defeated Lindsey Wilson College Saturday afternoon, 124-81.
  • Here are a few of the Golden Bears' top finishes:
    • Freshman Manual Laguna Gomez touched first in the 1000 yard Freestyle (9:57.50).
    • Sophomore Kohen Kerr grabbed first (21.98) and freshman Paulo Ignacio, Jr. earned second (22.44) in the 50 yard Freestyle with both times earning the swimmers a "B" standard.
    • Dias earned an "A" standard and first place in the 100 yard Breaststroke (58.66).
    • Junior Geoffroy Gauneau recorded a time of 54.02 in the 100 yard Butterfly for a "B" standard.
    • Freshman Felipe Ruiz finished first in the 500 yard Freestyle (4:59.24) for a "B" standard.

REGULAR SEASON MATCH-UP vs. ASBURY (OCTOBER 27)
  • Played 110 minutes in a contest that ended in a 1-1 draw after double overtime.
  • Asbury struck first, scoring their lone goal in the 11th minute of play.
  • Tech didn't answer back until the second period when sophomore Caitlin Foster found the back of the net for an unassisted goal in minute 66.
  • The teams played a bonus 20 minutes of soccer where Tech got off three shots and the Eagles four, but the game ended with the score from regulation time, 1-1.
  • The Gold and Blue held the advantage in shots 25 (9) compared to their opponent's 13 (5).
  • The teams were equal with six corner kicks each.
  • Junior goalkeeper Martha Reyna made three saves and allowed one goal in the tie.
