Volleyball Takes Five Set Match Over Penn State Fayette

MONTGOMERY, West Virginia -- Freshman Konstantina Pateli marked a career-high 56 assists and WVU Tech volleyball earned a five-set match over Penn State Fayette, 3-2. The Golden Bears won with scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-11, 21-25 and 17-15 and move to 13-11 in 2016. The Roaring Lions now hold a record of 14-4.

Pateli currently holds three top-20 rankings in the nation (NAIA DI) including No. 3 in total service aces, No. 11 in total assists and No. 17 in service aces per game. On top of the 56 assists Wednesday evening, the Athens, Greece native also posted 15 digs, four kills and an ace.

On the attack, junior Bailey Lotozo led the match with 24 kills while freshman Carolina Bologna and senior Keyonna Morrow marked 12 kills each. Sophomore Ana Monteiro also posted double digits with 11 kills in the win.

Senior libero Michala Dean added to her dig total (374) with a match-high 22 digs. Monteiro dug up 15 Roaring Lions' balls.

The Gold and Blue will return to River States Conference play when they travel to Rio Grande, Ohio Saturday to face Point Park University (10 a.m.) and Carlow University (2 p.m.).
