BECKLEY, West Virginia — No. 8 WVU Tech will host Olivet Nazarene University in the 2016 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round Saturday, November 19 at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Sports Complex in Beckley, West Virginia. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m.
Admission will be $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors and free to those with a WVU Tech ID. Window clings featuring the new Golden Bear logo will be given to the first 100 fans in attendance.
The Gold and Blue enter the game with a 2016 showing of 16-2-2 while the Tigers hold a record of 16-3-2. Tech received an at-large bid into the tournament and Olivet Nazarene got an automatic bid after winning the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) final.
RECORDS
- Tech is undefeated at home this season (6-0-2) and are 0-1 in NAIA National Tournament play with last season marking the Golden Bears' first appearance.
- The Tigers are riding a 14-game winning streak and are historically 1-2-2 in the national tournament with their last appearance occurring in 2014.
GOLDEN BEAR NOTES
- WVU Tech has scored 72 goals in 2016 compared to their opponents' 15.
- The team averages 9.250 shots on goal per game and are ranked No. 21 in the NAIA for their efforts.
- Freshman Ignacio Tellechea leads the team with 47 points on 19 goals and nine assists.

- Senior goalkeeper Hunter Moles (16-2-2) recorded 12 shutouts this season, has 61 saves with a 0.813 save percentage.
SCOUTING OLIVET NAZARENE
- This appearance marks the fifth time in ONU history and fourth in five seasons the Tigers have reached the opening round.
- ONU has tallied seven shutouts so far this season.
- The Tigers have outscored their opponents 48-23 and 37-10 during their win streak.
- ONU is 6-1-2 on the road this season, suffering their only loss to No. 5 Davenport University.
- Olivet is led by sophomore forward Blake Van Bruggen, who currently leads the team in goals (13) and points (29).
