WILBERFORCE, Ohio -- WVU Tech women's basketball is enjoying a five-game winning streak after defeating Wilberforce University Thursday, 90-83. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 5-3 and the streak is the best since their 2014-15 campaign (five-game, February 3 - March 1).
The Gold and Blue currently hold 13 top-50 rankings in the nation (NAIA DII) and four top-20 rankings including No. 11
in Total Steals (90), No. 17

Individually, sophomore
Savannah Shamblin boasts four top-50 NAIA DII rankings while seniors
Brooke Gee and
Cheyanna Lusk and sophomore
Zjhane West have one each. Shamblin is No. 3 in total steals (25), No. 20 in steals per game (3.125), No. 42 in total scoring (115) and No. 47 in field goal percentage (0.485). Gee is No. 27 in total rebounds (59), West is No. 34 in total assists (26) and Lusk is No. 48 in total steals (16).
In the contest at Wilberforce, Shamblin went 5-for-6 from three-point range towards her 28 points which led the game and gave the Cross Lanes, West Virginia a new career-high.
West was 6-for-8 from the bonus line and finished with 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds while Gee had a double-double effort of 13 rebounds and 12 points in the win. Gee also posted a game-high two blocks.
Rounding out the top offensive contributors, sophomore
Alexandra Combs went a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line, scoring 11 points to go with four rebounds.
Freshman
Logan Dudley pulled down eight rebounds, four offensive and four defensive, to go with five points and an assist for WVU Tech.
The team finished with a 30-for-66 (45.5 percent) effort from the field while shooting 8-for-15 (53.3 percent) from beyond the arc and 22-for-31 (71.0 percent) from the foul line.
Tech held the advantage over the Bulldogs in bench points (83-75) and points in the paint (28-26).
Up next, the Golden Bears will travel to Longwood University on Saturday, November 26 with a tipoff slated for 2 p.m.
