Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season with 3-1 Victory

BLUEFIELD, Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball captured a 3-1 victory at Bluefield College to finish their regular season Thursday evening. The Golden Bears have had a historical season, garnering a 22-18 record so far which marks the most victories for the program since at least 2007.

Senior libero Michala Dean had a match-high 16 digs which brought her career total to 1,000. Dean earned 648 of those digs this season for the Golden Bears.

Sophomore Ana Monteiro led the team with 16 kills while picking up 15 digs and marking two block assists. Monteiro now has 411 digs and 183 kills in 2016.

Senior Keyonna Morrow and junior Bailey Lotozo both posted 14 kills in the win while they marked five and nine digs respectively. Sophomore Carolina Bologna finished with 11 kills to round out Tech's top offensive contributors.

Freshman Konstantina Pateli handled the ball for Tech, dishing out a match-high 51 assists towards her 1,307 total.

With a 6-10 River States Conference record and after their 3-0 win over Midway University last week, Tech has clinched a spot in the conference playoffs. Stay tuned to goldenbearathletics.com for information as it becomes available.
