MONTGOMERY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech men's basketball saw five Golden Bears hit double-digits and the team took their first victory of the season with a 118-77 score over Wright State Lake Saturday afternoon in the Baisi Athletic Center. Tech is now 1-1 this season while the Lakers hold a record of 0-5.
Junior
Ryan Atkins led the game with a 6-for-8 effort from three-point range towards his 29 points. Atkins also marked five assists and four rebounds.
Also hitting double-digits for the Gold and Blue included senior
Ra'Shaud Kincaid (21), juniors
Michael Scott (14) and
Enson Garcia (11) and sophomore
Brent Daniels (11). Scott finished with a double-double by pulling down a game-high ten rebounds to go with his 14 points and five assists.
Junior
Kievonn Banks was also big on the boards, pulling down seven rebounds in the win.
As a team, Tech shot 52.6 percent (41-for-78) from the field while holding the advantage in rebounds, 50-28. The Golden Bears forced 21 Lakers' miscues and recorded 12 steals.
WVU Tech will return to action when they host Point University Saturday, November 12 during Homecoming in Montgomery, West Virginia for the university.
