MONTGOMERY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball trailed No. 17 (NAIA DI) University of Pikeville most of a game that ended in a Golden Bear victory, 77-70. The Golden Bears are now 3-3 this season while the Bears hold a record of 2-1.
Tech didn't gain a lead until the clock had 7:26 left in the contest and the team proceeded to go on an 18-11 run over their opponent including 11 points scored by sophomore
Alexandra Combs towards her 18-point night.

Savannah Shamblin led the game with 19 points and five steals in 31 minutes of play. Senior
Cheyanna Lusk finished with a perfect 4-for-4 effort from the foul line towards her 13 points and recorded seven rebounds.
Junior
Zjhane West pulled down a team-high nine rebounds to go with eight points and four assists for the Golden Bears.
As a team, Tech shot 32-for-73 (43.8 percent) from the field while their defense held the Bears to a 28-for-74 (37.8 percent) effort. The teams were even with 14 miscues while Tech held the advantage in points in the paint (46-40) and fast break points (6-4).
WVU Tech will hit the road next to face West Virginia Wesleyan University on Wednesday, November 16 in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
