Brooke Gee had a career game, posting a game-high 18 points off the bench as WVU Tech women's basketball dropped a River States Conference (RSC) game to No. 21 Indiana University East Saturday afternoon, 85-72. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 9-5, 2-2 (RSC) while the Red Wolves improve to 10-3, 3-0 (RSC).
Gee finished 7-for-8 from the field and 4-for-5 from the bonus line towards her career-high 18 points. The Ashland, Kentucky native also pulled down seven boards and marked a game-high three blocks.
Senior
Cheyanna Lusk finished with 17 points, five assists and four rebounds while sophomore
Savannah Shamblin had 16 points, four rebounds and two steals. Lusk was perfect at the free throw line (5-for-5) and Shamblin made two from beyond the arc.
Sophomore
Zjhane West led the team with eight rebounds to go with eight points and a game-high three steals.
The team held the Red Wolves to just 36.7 percent (29-for-79) shooting from the field while finishing at 39.4 percent (26-for-66) themselves. The Gold and Blue were outrebounded by IU East, 47-45 and the Red Wolves also held the advantage in turnovers, 10-22.
Tech will return to the court next year when they host RSC opponent Indiana University Southeast in the Baisi Athletic Center Friday, January 6.
