  • Grabbed a conference win Saturday afternoon with a 67-43 win against KIAC opponent, Midway University.
  • The Golden Bears held their opponent to just 23.5 percent (12-for-51) shooting from the floor while forcing 15 miscues and grabbing 11 steals in the contest.
  • The 43 points by the Eagles is the lowest-scoring total the Golden Bears' defense has allowed this season.
  • Senior Courtney Fisher posted a game-high 13 points towards her 16th double-figure game in 2015-16, capping it off with seven rebounds.
  • Fellow classmate LaKisha Adkins registered ten points to go with two steals and a rebound.
  • Freshman Alexandra Combs had nine points while pulling down seven boards while sophomore Brett Justice recorded a game-high eight rebounds while pouring in six points.
  • Freshman Savannah Shamblin had a game-best five steals to go with six points and four boards.

LAST GAME
  • Traveled to Asbury University Thursday for a KIAC contest in Wilmore, Kentucky.
  • Despite a double-double effort by sophomore Ryan Atkins, the Eagles (14-15, 6-9 KIAC) took a 91-77 victory over the Golden Bears (15-12, 7-7 KIAC).
  • Atkins poured in 30 points, good for a team-best, while pulling down ten rebounds and recording two assists and steals each.
  • Junior Paul Stone posted 17 points and four rebounds while fellow classmate Matthew Kallead had nine points and senior Eddie Gordon had eight.
  • Sophomore Juwuan Wilson finished the game with six points and five rebounds.
  • The team finished 25-for-57 (43.9 percent) from the field while Asbury went 29-for-55 (52.7 percent).
  • Tech forced 16 turnovers while committing just 12 miscues themselves.

LAST MEET
  • Carried to a second place finish in the USCAA National Wrestling Invitational Championship with an individual champion in Terry Nance II (197 pounds) and nine other top-five finishes.
  • Tech finished with 148.5 points to come out just behind Penn State DuBois (174 points) in a championship that saw individuals from 11 different schools.
  • The Newport News Apprentice School (129 points) finished third in the competition.
  • Nance continued his success this season by topping his opponent with a 13-6 decision at 197 pounds to be crowned a national champion for the second consecutive year.
  • The team also benefited from second place finishers junior Colton Rowe who loss by decision in the title round, 3-1 and fellow classmate Jon Boarman who fell by pin in the final bout at 285 pounds to Penn State DuBois' Bryce Hanley.
  • Sophomore Othniel Edmond wrestled at 133 pounds while junior Denis Robles-Gomez participated at 125 pounds and freshman Noah Julian at 235 pounds, each earning third in the nation by fall over their opponents.
  • Senior Conrad Lacey (157 pounds) won by decision for a third place finish, 3-1 over Penn College's Tanner Leid.
  • The final top finishes for Tech included freshman Robert Pritt (fourth at 141 pounds), sophomores Andrew Renninger (fourth at 235 pounds) and Jeanpaul Jephte (fifth at 149 pounds) and junior Paul Gonzales (fifth at 133 pounds).
  • Jephte grabbed the fifth place victory by fall over Apprentice School's Chris Hercules.

Last Meet
  • Traveled to the Cedarville University for the Cedarville Collegiate Invitational, where the men finished tied for tenth with nine team points.
  • The 4x400 Meter Relay team of freshmen Sasha Fleurinor, Nicholas Oxendale, Raquez Lockhart and Cary Robertson crossed the line at 3:42.23 for a sixth place finish.
  • Freshman Daniel Lynch finished sixth overall in the shot put (12.96 meters) to give the Golden Bears three team points.

POSTPONEMENTS / KIAC PRESEASON COACHES' POLL
  • The team will play their first series of the season after postponements due to inclement weather against Glenville State (February 9) and St. Andrews (February 12-13).
  • Picked fourth in the 2016 KIAC Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • The Golden Bears finished their 2015 campaign 30-25, posting a new school record for the most wins in a single season.
  • Tech also made it to the final four of the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Tournament.
  • Two USCAA All-Americans, senior Dylan Harvey and junior Austin Southcott, return along with 10 Golden Bears from last season's squad.
