LAST SERIES
  • Went 1-2 with Lenoir-Rhyne University this weekend in a three-game series on a field in Hickory, North Carolina.
  • The Golden Bears (1-2) took game one on Saturday 4-3 before falling in the final two 13-8 and 25-2 to the Bears (10-2).
  • In the series finale, the Gold and Blue managed ten hits with senior Tommy Weaver recording the team's first home run of the season.
  • Fellow classmate Dylan Harvey marked a double after a 1-for-4 effort at the plate.
  • Juniors Marcus Rodriguez and Tanner Levine had two hits each while freshman Anferny Ellis crossed the plate for the team's final score of the game.
  • Senior Josh Hudson (0-1) pitched 1.2 innings for the loss, allowing four hits and six earned runs.
  • Senior Kyle Sager was the only Golden Bear on the mound that was able to strike out an opponent Sunday, marking two after 1.1 innings of work.

LAST GAME
  • Ended their regular season Saturday afternoon with a 91-78 loss to Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) foe Cincinnati Christian University.
  • The Golden Bears (16-13, 8-8 KIAC) will head into the KIAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed and are set to face the Eagles (20-8, 11-5) again, who enter as the No. 2 seed in the first round.
  • Tech had four Golden Bears in double figures including 22 points from sophomore Ryan Atkins for the team-high.
  • Junior Paul Stone poured in 16 points while pulling down eight boards.
  • Fellow classmate Patrick Gnagbo finished with a double-double effort of ten points and ten rebounds while senior Eddie Gordon also posted ten points.
  • As a team, the Gold and Blue shot 55.0 percent (33-for-60) from the field while the Eagles had a 52.2 percent (35-for-67) shooting performance.

LAST SERIES
  • Took their first victory of this young season in Sunday afternoon doubleheader action, defeating Brenau University 5-3 in game one before dropping a contest to No. 21 Georgia Gwinnett College, 5-1.
  • The Golden Bears move to 1-3 while the Golden Tigers are 5-2 and the Grizzlies improve to 9-2.
  • Game One | WVU Tech 5, Brenau 3 (Box Score)
    • Tech's victory in game one came in the bottom of the sixth when the Golden Bears tallied five hits and four runs including a double from senior Stephanie Seewer to lead off the inning.
    • On the mound, senior Genna Trippett (1-0) held the Golden Tigers to just three runs on 13 hits in seven innings of work for the complete game and the win.
    • Freshman Skylar Connelly was 2-for-4 at the plate, bringing in two runs and crossing the plate for a score.
    • Sophomores Kayla Harbin and MaKayla Waugh and Trippett recorded a RBI each towards the win.
    • Harbin also posted the team's first triple this season while Seewer knocked her second double this weekend.
  • Game Two | WVU Tech 1, Georgia Gwinnett 5 (Box Score)
  • Trippett was 2-for-3 at the plate including a homerun for Tech's lone run in the loss. Junior Adriana Rosendo recorded Tech's other hit.
  • Junior Mackenzie Wilson (0-1) drew the start for Tech, pitching 5.0 innings while scattering eight hits and three earned runs.
  • Wilson struckout two batters and walked one.
  • Freshman Hannah Burke (0-2) finished the game and recorded the loss after facing five batters.
