BUENA VISTA, Virginia — After competing in a tri-meet hosted by NCAA DIII Southern Virginia University, WVU Tech wrestling now has a record of 3-12 by defeating SVU (41-15) and falling to Liberty University (31-18) Wednesday evening.
At 125 pounds, sophomore
Tristan Bean was undefeated on the night, winning by forfeit before defeating Liberty's Dell Ngonga, 7-4. Fellow classmate
Othniel Edmond (133) was also undefeated by forfeit versus the host school and scoring a fall over Liberty's Brian DiCesare (3:20).
Senior
Conrad Lacey (157) went 2-0, earning a technical fall (15-0, 0:00) over SVU's Travis Trahan and a fall over Jacob Brooks (1:42). Junior
Terry Nance II (197) was perfect on the mat during the tri-meet as well, taking two victories home for Tech with a fall over the host school's Caleb West (3:57) and an 8-4 decision over the Flames' Eric Porch.
Now the Golden Bears will gear up to host their final two duals of the season, Friday versus Ohio Valley University and Tuesday versus Alderson Broaddus University, before heading to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament to be held in State College, Pennsylvania February 14.
