MONTGOMERY, West Virginia — WVU Tech wrestling hosted Ohio Valley University in the Baisi Athletic Center for a redemption match-up Friday evening and succeeded. The Golden Bears defeated the Fighting Scots, 31-13 to boost their dual record to 4-12. Tech fell to OVU earlier this season (November 12), 27-15.
Tech took a quick 18-0 lead due to forfeit wins in the 125, 133 and 141 weight classes. Senior
Conrad Lacey (157) picked up points for Tech with a 7-2 decision over Ohio Valley's Sam Phillips.
At 165, sophomore
Corey Palmer won by decision over the Fighting Scots, 7-3. Junior
Colton Rowe wrestled at 174 and grabbed the victory, 8-3 over Austin Anstill. Junior
Terry Nance II scored a major decision (9-0) at 197 over his opponent, Tyler Koreski.
The Golden Bears will play host again when Alderson Broaddus University travels to the Baisi Athletic Center, Tuesday for a 6 p.m. start. Lacey will be celebrated by his team, fans and friends for Senior Night and Tech's last dual of the season.
