BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's soccer earned a 1-1 tie against Midway University in their first River States Conference (RSC) match-up in 2016. Due to the weather in Beckley, West Virginia, the game was considered complete after 86 minutes of play. The Golden Bears are now 4-4-1, 0-0-1 (RSC) this season while the Eagles hold a record of 5-0-1, 0-0-1 (RSC).

Freshman
Hailey Couchman led the match with seven shots (two on goal) while junior
Olivia Mantohbang and sophomore
Caitlin Foster recorded six shots each. Mantohbang finished with three shots on frame while Foster had two. Junior
Tristen Kilman had a game-high four shots on goal.
As a team, the Gold and Blue marked 34 shots, 15 on goal compared to the Eagles' six shots, three on goal. Tech also held the advantage in corner kicks, 8-0.

Martha Reyna (4-4-1) had two saves in 86 minutes of play.
The team will return to the pitch Saturday, October 1 when they host Brescia University for another RSC contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Complex.
