Volleyball Competes at Marietta River City Classic

MARIETTA, Ohio -- The WVU Tech volleyball team competed in a two-day tournament in Marietta, Ohio where they finished 1-4. The Golden Bears took a five-game match from Kentucky Christian University before falling to host school Marietta College (3-1), Midway University (3-1), Bluefield College (3-0) and Thiel College (3-1).

Tech is now 5-6 this season, passing the total amount of victories the team earned in 2015 as they finished 4-26.

The Gold and Blue currently hold two top-40 rankings in the nation (NAIA DI) as a team with 2.210 service aces per game (No. 25) and a .222 hitting percentage (No. 40).

Individually, freshman Konstantina Pateli is No. 3 in service aces per game (1.050), No. 17 in total services aces (21) and No. 39 in assists per game (9.200). Junior Bailey Lotozo also holds a national ranking with 3.840 kills per game (No. 26).

WVU Tech will continue their season at home when they host Emory & Henry College tomorrow, Wednesday in the Baisi Athletic Center. The first serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
