Men's Soccer

BLUEFIELD, Virginia -- The WVU Tech men's soccer team stayed undefeated in 2016, 3-0-1, with a 4-0 shutout victory at Bluefield College (1-2-1) in a non-conference NAIA DI match-up Wednesday.

The Golden Bears saw goals from freshmen Eduardo Gutierez (60'), Carlos Tormo (80') and Ignacio Tellechea (87'). Tech's first goal was a Bluefield College own goal off the assist from senior Saul Montealegre. The goals marked Tormo's and Tellechea's first collegiate scores.

The other WVU Tech assists were credited to Tellechea, sophomore Álvaro Adán and freshman Sergio Sanchez.

In goal, senior Hunter Moles (3-0-1) was credited with the win after three saves and 45 minutes of play. Freshman Jorge Martinez made his collegiate debut, defending the net for the final 45 minutes of the game.

The Gold and Blue will next face Bryan College when they travel to Dayton, Tennessee September 10 for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
