MIDWAY, Kentucky -- WVU Tech women's basketball had four Golden Bears score in double digits as they took a 75-67 River States Conference victory over Midway University Saturday afternoon. Tech is now 13-7, 5-4 (RSC) this season while the Eagles hold a record of 15-7, 6-4 (RSC).
Senior
Cheyanna Lusk had another big game, finishing a perfect 12-for-12 from the bonus line towards her game-best 21 points. The Cyclone, West Virginia native also pulled down eight rebounds while putting out another game-best with six assists.
Sophomore
Savannah Shamblin was 8-for-16 from the floor, pouring in 18 points to go with five boards. Fellow classmate
Alexandra Combs produced 13 points for the Gold and Blue on 3-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
Junior
Zjhane West earned a double-double effort of 11 rebounds and ten points to round out Tech's top offensive contributors.
The Eagles were led by Timitryi Patterson who had 16 points while teammate Patrice Tonge led under the boards with ten rebounds.
Defense played a strong part in this contest as WVU Tech was held to 37.5 percent (24-for-64) shooting from the floor while Midway finished 32.8 percent (19-for-58) from the field.
Up next, Tech will play host to Alice Lloyd College Tuesday in the Baisi Athletic Center.
