LAST TOURNAMENT
  • Senior Paul Gonzales finished second at the 125-pound weight class and three other WVU Tech wrestlers finished in the top four as the Golden Bears posted a fifth place finish at the West Virginia Invitational hosted by West Liberty University.
  • Alderson Broaddus University had three individual champions and claimed the team title with 75 points compared to Tech's 15 team points.
  • Gonzales, who went 1-1 Saturday, won the semifinal with a 10-3 decision over AB's Travis Harrington before falling to Ohio Valley's Anthony Tripke by a 6-4 decision.
  • Junior Corey Palmer (3-1 Saturday) gave the Gold and Blue a third place finish in the day-long tournament as he battled Wheeling Jesuit's Christian Riviera at 157 during his final bout and came out on top via a tiebreaker (TB-1, 2-1).
  • Freshman Will Van Hoose fell in the third place match by major decision (12-4) to West Liberty's Nate Dawson towards his 2-2 record overall.
  • Senior Terry Nance II gave Tech two team points as he finished fourth in his weight class (197).

  • Had four Golden Bears score in double digits as they took a 75-67 River States Conference victory over Midway University.
  • Senior Cheyanna Lusk had another big game, finishing a perfect 12-for-12 from the bonus line towards her game-best 21 points.
  • The Cyclone, West Virginia native also pulled down eight rebounds while putting out another game-best with six assists.
  • Sophomore Savannah Shamblin was 8-for-16 from the floor, pouring in 18 points to go with five boards.
  • Fellow classmate Alexandra Combs produced 13 points for the Gold and Blue on 3-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
  • Junior Zjhane West earned a double-double effort of 11 rebounds and ten points to round out Tech's top offensive contributors.
  • The Eagles were led by Timitryi Patterson who had 16 points while teammate Patrice Tonge led under the boards with ten rebounds.
  • Defense played a strong part in this contest as WVU Tech was held to 37.5 percent (24-for-64) shooting from the floor while Midway finished 32.8 percent (19-for-58) from the field.

LAST GAME
  • Earned their sixth consecutive victory after defeating Midway University in River State Conference play, 96-58.
  • The Gold and Blue saw standout performances from junior Ryan Atkins who was three assists from a triple-double and freshman Will Fox who finished 6-for-9 from beyond the arc.
  • Atkins poured in a game-high 27 points on 9-for-11 shooting to go with 12 rebounds and seven assists. Fox posted a career-high 21 points after 19 minutes of play.
  • Junior Elisha Boone marked 16 points in the win while pulling down eight boards.
  • Fellow classmates Cole Schoolcraft was 4-for-8 from the field, finishing with ten points and Michael Scott grabbed 11 rebounds while producing nine points.
  • The Eagles leading scorer, Brandon Johnson, had 13 points.
  • Tech's defense held the Eagles to 32.8 percent (19-for-58) shooting from the floor while forcing 14 miscues and grabbing six steals.
  • The Golden Bears shot 53.0 percent (35-for-66) from the field and 69.2 percent (18-for-26) from the foul line.

LAST MEET
  • Competed at the Magnus Cup November 18-20 where the men's squad finished seventh with 472 team points while the women ended 13th overall with 35 points.
  • Junior Manuel Serrano Laguna led the men's team with 51 points, finishing sixth overall in the 200 Freestyle (1:42.73) and seventh in the 200 Breaststroke (2:05.72) as an individual.
  • The Toledo, Spain native also helped the 800 Freestyle Relay team of freshmen Felipe Ruiz and Manuel Laguna Gomez and junior Jesus Ballesteros to a seventh place finish (7:00.68) and the 400 Freestyle Relay team of sophomore Kohen Kerr, freshman Paulo Ignacio, Jr. and Ballesteros to an eighth place finish (3:06.82).
  • Kerr garnered 46 points for the Golden Bears by touching first in the 50 Freestyle (20.62) and third in the 100 Freestyle (45.40) as an individual.
  • He was also part of the 400 Medley Relay team of Ignacio, sophomore Arthur Bertrand and junior Geoffroy Gauneau that finished third with a time of 3:24.57.
  • The remaining top five finishes for the Gold and Blue included Gomez (second, 500 Freestyle, 4:34.78 | third, 1650 Freestyle, 15:57.18), Ignacio (fourth, 200 Breaststroke, 2:04.97) and Gauneau (third, 100 IM, 53.46).
  • For the women, Tech earned some of their points from a 16th place finish from the team of senior Francine Meyer, sophomores Mariana Loureiro and Isabela Kiesewetter Zandavalli and junior Kendra Monnin in the 800 Freestyle Relay with a time of 7:56.18, dropping 23.71 from their entry time.
  • Meyer also grabbed a tenth place finish in the 50 Butterfly with a time of 26.40.
