Tech earns third RSC victory, 81-58 over Brescia

MONTGOMERY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball picked up a River States Conference (RSC) win Saturday afternoon, 81-58 against Brescia University in the Baisi Athletic Center. The Gold and Blue are now 10-6, 3-3 (RSC) while the Bearcats move to 2-15, 0-6 (RSC) this season.

Sophomore Alexandra Combs earned a career-high making 4-of-6 three-pointers towards her game-high 20 points. Combs was 7-for-11 from the field to go with five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Sophomore Zjhane West posted 14 points and freshman Carlie Biehl-Wilson marked 11 to round out Tech's top offensive contributors. Biehl-Wilson pulled down a team-high six rebounds while West had game bests in assists (5) and steals (4).

Also contributing to Tech's rebound total included senior Cheynna Lusk (6) and freshman Logan Dudley (5).

Brescia was led by Catherine Dunn under the boards with seven rebounds to go with ten points while Kelsey Kirkpatrick finished with a team-high 15 points.

As a team, the Golden Bears shot 55.7 percent (34-for-61) from the field while outrebounding their opponent, 36-22. Tech forced 22 miscues while grabbing 13 steals in the win.

Up next, the Golden Bears will host a non-conference game Monday when Bluefield College travels to Montgomery, West Virginia for a 6 p.m. tip off.
