PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech women's soccer suffered their first River States Conference (RSC) loss in 2017 after falling 2-0 at Point Park University Friday evening. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 9-5-1, 4-1-1 (RSC) while the Pioneers move to 7-6-1, 4-2-1 (RSC).
The Pioneers recorded both of their goals in the first half when Lauren Bower (23') and Izzy Hunter (30') both found the back of the net.
The Gold and Blue finished with four shots on goal including two from senior
Tyler Graves and one each from senior
Renee Bigelow and freshman
Domenica Moncayo.
Senior
Martha Reyna (9-5-1) made two stops after 90 minutes while protecting the goal. The Pioneers' keeper, Ashtyn Webb, was forced to make four saves in the complete game.
WVU Tech will return to the field tomorrow, Saturday when they host Carlow University (7-5-2, 2-3-1 RSC) for more conference action.
