BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision to River States Conference (RSC) opponent, Point Park University Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears now stand at 21-12, 4-9 (RSC) in 2017 while the Pioneers hold a record of 18-12, 8-5 (RSC). Point Park took the match with scores of 25-23, 25-14 and 25-22.
As a team, Tech tallied 32 kills including a team-best 11 from freshman
Lauren McCall. McCall also recorded seven digs and three block solos.
Junior
Ana Monteiro posted eight kills while sophomore
Katelyn Byrd put away seven. Monteiro also marked 11 digs while freshman
Sawyer Hawgood picked up a match-high 16 digs.
Sophomore
Konstantina Pateli led the Gold and Blue with 29 assists to go with six digs and a block solo.
Tech begins a three-match conference road stand Saturday, October 28 when they travel to Midway, Kentucky to face the host school, Midway University, and Asbury University. The Golden Bears will finish their conference play on Tuesday, October 31 at University of Rio Grande.
