BECKLEY, West Virginia -- The women's soccer squad of WVU Tech earned their fifth consecutive victory after shutting out Ohio Christian University 2-0 Saturday afternoon in a River States Conference (RSC) match-up. The Golden Bears move to 9-4 overall and stay undefeated in RSC play, 4-0.
Tech's first goal came from a header off of sophomore
Maria Gonzalez who connected with a corner kick from senior
Ruby Bingham. The combination marked Gonzalez's first score this season and Bingham's second assist in 2017.
Junior
Brianna Enger produced the final goal of the game with an unassisted effort in the 89
th minute. The Dracut, Massachusetts native followed up freshman
Johanna Ribacke's blocked attempt to find the back of the net.
Senior goalkeeper
Martha Reyna (9-4) marked her third shutout this season after three stops in 90 minutes.
The team combined for 16 shots on frame compared to the Trailblazers' four. Tech also held the advantage in corner kicks, 9-2.
