MIAMI GARDENS, Florida -- WVU Tech men's basketball fell to Florida Memorial University 66-61 Tuesday evening in Miami Gardens, Florida. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 8-5 overall while the Lions move to 7-3.
Tech had four players hit double-digits including a team-best 16 points from
Tamon Scruggs.
Andreas Jönsson was 4-for-6 from beyond the arc towards his 15 points while
Brent Daniels poured in 12 points and
Michael Scott had ten.
Scruggs led the team under the boards, pulling down nine rebounds while Scott posted eight and
Dominik King had six.
As a team, Tech shot 37.9 percent (22-for-58) from the field while the Lions finished 39.3 percent (24-for-61). The Gold and Blue outrebounded their opponent, 40-33. The Lions forced 22 Golden Bear turnovers and grabbed 12 steals.
WVU Tech will finish their time in Florida tonight, Wednesday when they face St. Thomas University at 7 p.m.
