  • Dropped a River States Conference (RSC) game to No. 20 Indiana University East, 90-72.
  • Tech saw three double-digit scorers including a standout performance from sophomore Alexandra Combs.
  • Combs finished with a team-high 21 points (8-for-15), pulled down a team-best six rebounds, grabbed a game-best six steals and blocked three Red Wolves' balls.
  • Fellow classmate Savannah Shamblin poured in 16 points while junior Zjhane West had ten points.
  • Shamblin also had three assists and three rebounds while West had five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
  • The team was held to just 38.2 percent (29-for-76) shooting from the field and 35.3 percent (6-for-17) from beyond the arc.
  • IU East shot 48.5 percent (32-for-66) from the floor and 47.6 percent (10-for-21) from three-point range.

LAST GAME
  • IU East men's celebrated an afternoon in the national spotlight with a 89-83 victory against WVU Tech.
  • The matchup was the River States Conference Game of the Week and the NAIA Network Division II Men's Basketball Game of the Week.
  • The No. 12 Red Wolves (22-7, 13-3) have won three in a row and now control their own destiny in the race for the River States Conference East Division title entering the final week of the regular season.
  • The No. 11 Golden Bears (20-7, 12-3) have dropped two straight.

LAST COMPETITION
  • Tech wrestling was carried to a second place finish, for the second consecutive season, in the 2017 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Wrestling Invitational Championship with an individual champion in Terry Nance II (197) and nine other top-five finishes Saturday in State College, Pennsylvania.
  • Tech finished with 130.5 points to come out just behind NCAA DII Alderson Broaddus University (178 points) in a championship that saw individuals from 14 different schools.
  • Alfred State (110.5 points) finished third in the competition.
  • Nance is now a three-time USCAA National Champion at 197 after his efforts Saturday.
  • The Lanham, Maryland topped his opponent with a 4-1 decision at 197 pounds to be crowned a national champion for the third consecutive year.

RIVER STATES CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL
  • Picked fourth in the 2017 River States Conference Softball Preseason Coaches' Poll with 55 votes and was 21-29, 9-9 KIAC last year as announced by the conference.
  • University of Rio Grande is the favorite in the poll, which was voted upon by the 10 head coaches in the league.
  • The top eight teams in the final standings qualify for the RSC Softball Tournament beginning May 5.
  • The RSC will qualify two teams to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round with the regular-season champion and conference tournament champion earning the automatic bids from the conference.
