MONTGOMERY, West Virginia -- The WVU Tech women's basketball team earned a 72-58 victory over River States Conference foe, Carlow University Friday evening in the Baisi Athletic Center. The Golden Bears boosted their record to 18-11, 9-7 (RSC) while the Celtics fall to 10-17, 1-15 (RSC).
The team will complete regular season play tomorrow, Saturday in Montgomery, West Virginia when they host Point Park University for Senior Day. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Gold and Blue will celebrate student-assistant, Amber Linville,
Cheyanna Lusk,
Keymonisha Dudley and
Brooke Gee.
During play, Lusk finished 3-for-6 from beyond the arc towards a team-high 15 points while also pulling down five rebounds and passing out five assists.
Sophomore
Savannah Shamblin had an efficient shooting night, finishing 5-for-8 from the field including three three-pointers while pouring in 13 points. Fellow classmate
Alexandra Combs rounded out Tech's top offensive contributors with 11 points.
Gee had a game-best eight rebounds to go with seven points.
Tech finished 27-for-55 (49.1 percent) from the floor while holding their opponent to just 17-for-52 (32.7 percent) shooting. The Golden Bears also outrebounded the Celtics, 36-31.
