WILKES-BARRE, Pennsylvania -- WVU Tech wrestling traveled to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania where they faced host school Wilkes University along with Rochester Institute of Technology and University of Scranton in a quad-match Sunday.
The Golden Bears fell to Wilkes (34-9), RIT (32-9) and Scranton (33-11) and now hold a dual record of 3-8 this season.
In the first match against RIT,
Louis Bernard (165) and
Terry Nance II (197) both scored victories by decision.
Against Scranton, senior
Paul Gonzales (125), freshman
Leland Swafford (149) and Bernard came away with wins at their respective weights.
In the final match of the day against Wilkes, senior
Colton Rowe scored a win by decision (10-9) while junior
Casey Hogg (285) marked Tech's only fall of the day over Wilkes' Santana-Quantana at 1:27.
The quad-match completes the regular season for the Gold and Blue. Next Saturday, February 11, Tech will compete in the USCAA National Invitational in State College, Pennsylvania.
