RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech baseball dropped a doubleheader to University of Rio Grande to kick off the River States Conference (RSC) Games of the Week Friday. The Golden Bears (15-14, 9-5 RSC) fell 6-4 before dropping the night cap 3-1 to the RedStorm (14-15, 8-6 RSC).
The two teams are now tied for third in the conference, two games back from Midway University (11-3 RSC) who is in the top spot.. (RV) Indiana University Southeast (9-3 RSC) and Point Park University (10-4) are tied for second in the RSC at one game back.

Jacob Reimold finished 1-for-3 at the dish with a home run, two RBI and a run scored.
Senior
Chris Davidson led the team with a 2-for-3 showing while also scoring a run.
Senior
Marcus Rodriguez knocked a two-run single towards his two RBI and senior
Tanner Levine reached base once off a double.
Junior
Jerod Jobst (4-1) suffered his first loss on the mound this season after 4.1 innings, scattering nine hits and five earned runs while walking one batter.
Fellow classmate
Dalton Grisell finished out the game, giving up two hits and one earned run while retiring one opponent via strikes.

The Golden Bears managed five hits in the final game of the day including one each from senior
Alex Kotheimer, Levine, Reimold, junior
Wyatt Belinda and Rodriguez.
Pinch runner junior
Abraham Alejandro was the Golden Bear who scored. Alejandro ran for freshman
Brian Schack who reached first by balls. Alejandro advanced to second base off a sacrifice bunt from Kotheimer. It was then a Levine ground out that crossed Alejandro in the top of the sixth.
Senior
Jayson Sykora (1-3) pitched a complete game for the loss. Sykora struck out three RedStorm while giving up four hits and three earned runs.
The squads will complete the four-game series tomorrow, Saturday with a doubleheader in Rio Grande, Ohio. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
