CLERMONT, Florida -- WVU Tech softball earned a victory with a 4-2 score against Spring Arbor University after eight innings during the PFX Games in Clermont, Florida Thursday morning. The Golden Bears finished the day with a loss to Cardinal Stritch University, 7-12.
Freshman
Karina Atanacio (2-6) earned the win the circle after 5.1 innings of work against Spring Arbor, striking out four batters and giving up zero runs.
Senior
Genna Trippett had a standout day at the plate, finishing .500 (3-for-6) with two home runs, two RBI and two runs scored.

The team combined for ten hits in the victory including two each from Trippett and sophomore
Hannah Calhoun. Trippett recorded a RBI and run scored while Calhoun crossed the plate once herself.
Senior
Lexi Huck and freshman
Madeline Olson drove in a run each. The remainder of the runs, besides Trippett's home run and Calhoun's score, were scored by Olson and Huck.

MaKayla Waugh marked a steal each.
Trippett started pitching for the Golden Bears, throwing for 2.2 innings. The Parkersburg, West Virginia native scattered four hits and two earned runs while retiring one batter via strikes.
Atanacio gave up just three hits after facing 15 batters for her's and the team's second win.

Trippett and freshman
Ashley Daniels both rocketed long balls in the final game of the day to mark their RBI.
Sophomore
Kaitlyn Sisler finished with a double, RBI and run scored.
Junior

Chelsey Adkins (2) and Waugh also marked RBI.
As a team, Tech produced nine hits and seven RBI towards their seven runs while Cardinal Stritch had 13 hits and 12 RBI.
Senior
Mackenzie Wilson (0-7) was charged with the loss after 1.1 innings. Wilson gave up just three hits and one earned run.
WVU Tech will finish their 12-game road trip to Florida tomorrow, Friday when they take on Siena Heights University and Saint Xavier University in the PFX Games.
