BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech baseball was on top until the sixth inning when Campbellsville picked up two runs and the lead towards an eventual 9-4 win Saturday afternoon at Linda K. Epling Stadium in Beckley, West Virginia. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 21-24 in 2017 while the Tigers move to 26-14.

The team finished with eight hits including two from Prather who finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
Kotheimer, Levine, freshman
Jacob Reimold, Davidson, Lam and Rodriguez had one hit each. Lam and Kotheimer knocked a two-bag ball a piece while Levine grabbed a steal.
Of the runs driven in for Tech, Davidson led the team with two off a single to left field that plated Prather and Kotheimer.
The Gold and Blue's first score came off a single from Reimold that brought in Levine in the first inning while the final run was in the bottom of the ninth when Prather scored off a passed ball.
Sykora put in 5.0 innings of work on the bump to start the Golden Bears off. The Spencer, Ohio native struck out three Tigers while giving up three hits and two earned runs.
Monroe (3-3) threw 2.0 innings for the loss, scattering three earned runs and two hits while striking out two batters.
Junior
Dalton Grisell struck out one while giving up two hits and two runs. Redshirt-junior
Garrison Vandeventer finished out the game, giving up two hits and two runs.
Tech will return to the field April 18 when they travel to Morehead State University for one nine-inning game. The first pitch in Morehead, Kentucky is slated for 5 p.m.
