BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's soccer had a thrilling start to the season as they pulled together an overtime comeback win, 3-2, against the University of Pikeville Sunday afternoon. The Golden Bears were trailing 2-0 heading into the second half before scores from senior

Patricia Fisher gave Tech the victory.
Bingham marked the Gold and Blue's first goal of the season off a penalty kick awarded in the 64
th minute. The Melbourne, Australia native finished the game with four shots (three on goal) towards the teams 30 shots (21 on goal) total.
Ribacke was assisted by sophomore
Miriam Cortez, just four minutes after Bingham netted hers, to find the back of the net and knot the score with Pikeville, 2-2.
The game-winning goal came off a perfect pass from sophomore Maria Gonzalez which connected with Fisher to finish the game after 95:07. The score marks Fisher's first collegiate goal. The freshman also led the team with seven shots while putting four on frame.
Senior Martha Reyna (1-0) protected the goal, posting two saves after a complete game.
Pikeville's goals came from Macarena Acuna (35') and Marissa Kelley (38'). The Bear's keeper, Bryanna Schroers, marked 17 saves.
Tech's next game is on Saturday, September 2 when they travel to Montreat, North Carolina to face Brewton-Parker College.
