Tech wins seventh consecutive match, defeats ABC in three

Volleyball

MOUNT HOPE, West Virginia -- WVU Tech volleyball took their seventh consecutive match and boosted their overall record to 16-3 after defeating Appalachian Bible College Thursday evening, 3-0.

Junior Kayla Hill marked a double-double with a season and match-best 11 kills to go with a career- and match-high ten digs for the Gold and Blue. Hill also had a block solo.

Freshman Adrianna Mitchem had a standout night handling the ball, dishing 25 assists. The Princeton, West Virginia native also had six digs, a service ace and a kill.

Sophomore Katelyn Byrd finished with seven kills and five digs while fellow classmate Jade Berry had four kills. Freshmen Ana Alonso Olea and Michaela Hall produced three kills each while Hall also put down a match-high four block solos.

Next, the team will compete in their first River States Conference (RSC) game of the season on Saturday when they travel to Indiana University East for a 12 p.m. match.
