BECKLEY, West Virginia -- WVU Tech women's basketball picked up their second consecutive River States Conference (RSC) win with a 72-51 decision over Indiana University Kokomo Saturday afternoon in the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center. The Golden Bears boost their record to 13-11, 7-5 (RSC) while the Cougars move to 14-8, 6-5 (RSC).
Freshman
Alexandria Gray came off the bench to lead the Golden Bears with 15 points. Gray also pulled down six rebounds to go with four steals and three assists.
Fellow classmate
Brittney Justice and senior
Zjhane West poured in 11 points each in the victory. Justice also had five rebounds and assists while West dished four assists and had four steals.
Junior
Alexandra Combs marked nine points while freshman
Whittney Justice and sophomore
Katelyn Byrd posted eight points each. Byrd, who hails from Parkersburg, West Virginia, grabbed a game-high eight steals.
Under the boards, sophomore
Laura Requena led the way with ten rebounds to go with six points and two blocks.
