NEW ALBANY, Indiana -- WVU Tech women's basketball suffered their first River States Conference (RSC) loss this season after falling to Indiana University Southeast 80-54 Thursday evening. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 9-8, 4-1 (RSC) while the Grenadiers boost their record to 9-5, 3-2 (RSC).
Junior
Savannah Shamblin led Tech with 14 points to go with four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Freshman
Brittney Justice poured in nine points and had two steals while junior
Alexandra Combs finished with eight points including a 2-for-5 from effort from three-point range. Combs also pulled down five boards and had two steals.
Sophomore
Katelyn Byrd came off the bench to mark a game-best eight rebounds, six offensive, and posted four points. Freshman
Alexandria Gray and sophomore
Laura Requena recorded four rebounds each.
Up next, Tech will continue conference play as they travel to face Brescia University Saturday afternoon.
