BECKLEY, West Virginia -- Saturday night WVU Tech women's soccer celebrated four seniors including
Alison Backel,
Brianna Enger,
Maria Gonzalez and
Lorena Moyers and ended a double overtime River States Conference game to Ohio Christian University scoreless. The Golden Bears move to 6-5-1, 3-3-1 (RSC) in 2018 while the Trailblazers move to 5-6-4, 2-2-3 (RSC).
As a team, the Gold and Blue finished with 11 shots on frame including two each from
Veronica Nobles, Gonzalez,
Domenica Moncayo,
Brittany Dye and
Meghan Rugel. Backel marked one shot on goal for Tech.
Ohio Christian's lone shot on goal was recorded by Brooke Wilhite and stopped by freshman Tech keeper
Jenna Miller. Miller protected the net for a full 110 minutes, forced to make just one save.
The Trailblazer's keeper, Kim Lloyd, tallied ten Golden Bear saves after a complete game.
The team will return to the pitch October 25 when they travel to Midway University for more conference action.
