RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- WVU Tech men's basketball saw 12 Golden Bears record points in the win over University of Michigan-Dearborn Saturday during the Bevo Francis Invitational Tournament. Tech finished undefeated, 2-0, at the tournament and is 6-1 overall this season.
Of the 12, two hit double-digits including 11 from sophomore
Junior Arrey and ten points from freshman
Isaiah Morgan.
Senior
Elisha Boone and
Tommy Collins had nine each while sophomore
Andreas Jönsson and freshman
Josh Whelan poured in eight points each.
The team also found a balance under the boards, out-rebounding their opponent 43-28 and having ten of the 13 Golden Bears who played pull down two or more rebounds.
Arrey marked six boards while the following had five each, Boone, Collins, Whelan, junior
Brent Daniels and sophomore
Tamon Scruggs.
Tech finished 28-for-59 (47.5 percent) from the field while holding Michigan-Dearborn to 17-for-48 (35.4 percent) shooting.
The Golden Bears will continue tournament play when they head to Kingsport, Tennessee November 24-25 to participate in the NAIA Showcase.
