INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana -- WVU Tech women's basketball faced two top 25 teams during the Marian University Classic Friday and Saturday including host school No. 4 Marian and No. 14 University of Saint Francis. The Golden Bears fell to Marian 101-53 before dropping a 79-53 decision to Saint Andrews.
Senior
Savannah Shamblin combined for 29 points during the tournament to lead the Gold and Blue. She also had nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Junior
Carlie Biehl-Wilson posted 18 points, 15 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Biehl-Wilson recorded a double-double against Saint Francis with ten points and ten rebounds.
Senior
Alexandra Combs finished with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists.
As of November 17, Shamblin is No. 13 in the nation (NAIA DII) for assists per game (5.25) and No. 19 in assist/turnover ration (3.00). As a team, Tech is No. 44 in assist/turnover ratio (0.815).
The Golden Bears will continue tournament play when they head to Kingsport, Tennessee November 24-25 to participate in the NAIA Showcase.
