CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio -- WVU Tech men's basketball earned its sixth consecutive victory, 87-68, to open up River States Conference (RSC) play at Ohio Christian University Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 9-1, 1-0 (RSC) while the Trailblazers move to 3-8, 0-1 (RSC).
The team finished 52.3 percent (34-for-65) from the field while holding its opponent to 37.3 percent (25-for-67) shooting.
Tech also held the advantage in rebounds, 47-23. The Gold and Blue finished a perfect 100 percent (10-for-10) from the bonus line.
Senior
Elisha Boone recorded his seventh double-double this season to lead the game with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Boone was 6-for-6 from the foul line and dished out three assists.
Fellow senior
Brandon Shingles posted 21 points to go with three rebounds, three steals and three assists.
Senior
Tommy Collins had 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists while sophomore
Junior Arrey marked 13 points and five rebounds.
The Trailblazers were led by Troy Mundy who had 15 points.
The Gold and Blue will continue conference play Sunday when they host Indiana University East in Beckley, West Virginia.
