REGULAR SEASON GAME vs. BRESCIA (October 4)
  • Defeated Brescia University in River States Conference (RSC) play 5-0 in Beckley.
  • Junior Manuel Garcia had a standout game, recording two goals (7' and 89') and two assists (19' and 25') after six shots, three on frame.
  • Fellow junior Eduardo Gutierrez posted Tech's second goal in the 19th minute while junior Jesus Naves (25') and senior Murray Kinnaird (45') also had first half goals.
  • Kinnaird's score came off the assist of senior Sergio Sanchez while Gutierrez assisted on Garcia's goal in the seventh minute.
  • The only second half goal, tallied by Garcia, was off the assist from junior Narhum Nivillac.
  • Junior Jose Domingo Xam-mar stays perfect protecting the goal, making six stops after 90 minutes of play.
  • Brescia's keeper, Jacob Stanley, made five stops while allowing five goals in the complete game.

LAST TOURNAMENT
  • Judson McCray (125 lbs.) picked up 2.5 team points after winning by fall (4:03) against Allen's Ervin Bryant.
  • Tristan Bean (133 lbs.) earned a major decision (15-7) against Life's Alex Gordy.
  • Logan Robertson scored a technical fall (20-2) at 141 lbs. versus Marian's Alex Fauber.
  • At 149 lbs., Devin Wilhelm earned a 7-1 decision against Bellarmine's Corbin Hale.
  • Cameron Crislip (165 lbs.) earned a 17-6 major decision over Brewton-Parker's Jordan Soloman.
  • Tucker Lawson (174 lbs.) finished the day with decision (10-5) versus Truett-McConnell's Steven Ray.
  • Vincent DeVaney (197 lbs.) recorded a sudden victory (SV-1, 7-5) over Queens University of Charlotte's Jacob Balmas and earned a fall (3:48) against Allen's Wallace Neal-Williams.

REGULAR SEASON GAME vs. BRESCIA (October 19)
  • Finished with a 3-2 River States Conference (RSC) victory over Brescia University in Van Meter Gym.
  • Junior Katelyn Byrd put down 17 kills for a match-best while junior Carolina Bologna and freshman Valentina Abondano both tallied 12 kills.
  • Byrd also had an assist, a block solo and a dig.
  • Abondano finished with a double-double after 18 digs and the kills to go with two assists.
  • Bologna had five digs, three block solos and a service ace.
  • Junior Konstantina Pateli posted 48 assists to go with seven digs, two service aces and a block solo.
  • Sophomore libero Sawyer Hawgood marked a team-best 19 digs while also recording two service aces and an assist.
  • Senior Ana Monteiro picked up 14 digs and had ten kills.
  • Junior Alice Amitrano posted seven digs in the win.
  • Junior Emily Kidd had a match-high four block solos to go with five kills, two digs and a block assist.

  • The Golden Bears shot 50 percent from beyond the arc, nailing 17 three pointers, led by freshman Isaiah Morgan who notched a game-high five.
  • All-American Elisha Boone led the Golden bears in scoring, recording 17 points in just under 20 minutes of action.
  • Junior Arrey, Morgan, Boone, Tommy Collins, Brent Daniels, Brandon Shingles and Dominik King all scored in double figures for WVU Tech.

  • The Golden Bears now hold a record of 1-1 while the Patriots move to 3-0.
  • Junior Laura Requena finished with a double-double effort of 18 points and 12 rebounds to go with three assists, a block and a steal.
  • Requena finished 6-for-8 from the free throw line.
  • Sophomore Brittney Justice posted 16 points while pulling down eight rebounds.
  • She also had three assists and was a perfect 4-for-4 at the bonus line.
  • Senior Savannah Shamblin and junior Logan Dudley also hit double-digits, recording 12 and ten points respectively.
  • Dudley also finished with five rebounds while Shamblin dished four assists.
  • Sophomore Whittney Justice came off the bench to give Tech seven points and a rebound, including a 5-for-6 showing from the free throw line.
  • The Gold and Blue shot 34.8 percent (24-for-69) from the field compared to the Patriots' 50.0 percent (34-for-68) effort.
  • Cumberlands also held the advantage under the boards, 48-32.
